Susan grew up in Vidalia, attending the Vidalia City School System, and later Georgia Southern University obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. She then attended John Marshall Law School in Atlanta and obtained a Degree of Juris Doctorate of Laws while also working as an Accountant. Susan has been practicing law in Vidalia, Georgia since 1993 where she began her practice with her father, W. L. Salter, Jr. and her husband, Mitchell M. Shook.
Susan has handled a variety of cases, civil and criminal, during her years of practice. She has vast experience in any domestic relations matters, to include Divorce, Child Custody, Legitimation, Visitation, Child Support, Adoptions, or Juvenile Court matters. Susan is well experienced in handling any cases, such as workers compensation, auto accidents, wrongful death, slip and fall or other personal injuries. Susan can also help you with related matters such as obtaining your Social Security Disability.
Susan has over 30 years of experience in handling issues involving bankruptcy, debt relief, foreclosures or other financial transactions and contracts. Susan can assist you with your probate needs to include the preparation of wills and trust documents, probating of estates, guardianships, and many more.
Susan has years of experience in defending criminal cases. Susan works in all Georgia State and Federal Courts. Susan believes that the matter you entrust to her to represent you in, is the most important thing in your life at the time and her work should reflect that.
